FIS Cross-Country World Cup – Oberhof, Germany

Oberhof never eases into the season — it reveals it. In the demanding tracks of the Thuringian Forest, the World Cup weekend quickly separated leaders from challengers and introduced a new name to the top level.

Jonna Sundling returned to the circuit and immediately dominated the skate sprint, leaving no chance for her rivals. And with Johannes Høsflot Klæbo absent, the door opened — Norway’s Lars Heggen seized the opportunity and captured an impressive first World Cup victory.

The classic races confirmed even more. Moa Ilar held firm under Teresa Stadlober’s late charge to win the women’s 10 km interval start, while in the men’s race Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget outdueled Iivo Niskanen, strengthening his case as the best classic skier in the world right now.
