FIS Cross-Country World Cup – Goms, Switzerland

Two years later the World Cup returned to Goms — and this time it felt different. High in the Swiss valley, the races became the final dress rehearsal before Milano-Cortina 2026, where form mattered as much as results.

The team sprints opened the weekend fast. Harald Østberg Amundsen and Einar Hedegart ruled the skate race, while Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher made history with the first-ever U.S. men’s Team Sprint podium. Germany answered in the women’s race as Laura Gimmler and Coletta Rydzek claimed the last Team Sprint victory before the Games.

In the individual events, the favorites stepped forward. Linn Svahn — who won the skate sprint here two years ago — returned to Goms and this time captured the classic sprint, while Johannes Høsflot Klæbo once again pulled away from the field. The distance race delivered a breakthrough — Johanna Matintalo captured her first World Cup victory in the brutal 20 km classic mass start — before Klæbo capped the weekend with a solo attack and his 107th career win.
